Overview

Located in the heart of Beavercreek, Ohio, MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub invites diners into a warm and casual American dining experience. This spot serves up hearty, pub-inspired dishes with an emphasis on bold flavors and comforting classics. The inviting ambiance, punctuated by an ice strip built into the bar, creates a lively yet relaxed setting perfect for groups, families, or solo visitors seeking a satisfying meal paired with a cold beer.

The menu is a solid representation of American pub fare, elevated by thoughtful twists. Notable highlights include their Al Pastor Taco Trio, where sweet and spicy smoked pork pairs beautifully with queso fresco and pineapple salsa, and the Cajun Chicken Penne, a flavorful pasta dish that balances spice and creaminess adeptly. For those craving lighter options, the variety of salads—from the Southwest Chop to the classic Cobb—offers fresh, vibrant choices. Flatbreads such as the Greek and Pear and Blue provide a gourmet touch, blending Mediterranean and inventive flavor profiles.

MacKenzie River excels with its bar classics; the Baja Fish Tacos offer a delightful combination of textures with grilled or breaded cod, while the Cowboy Nachos deliver a satisfying, loaded plate perfect for sharing. Many guests appreciate the house-made dips—especially the artichoke and spinach dip that carries subtle pesto notes—paired with blue tortilla chips, praised for their crispness and seasoning.

Customer experiences paint a vivid picture of the restaurant’s strengths and occasional missteps. Patrons frequently commend the freshness and seasoning of dishes, as well as the attentive service. The cold beer selection complements the menu nicely, enhancing the pub atmosphere. Some have raised concerns about inconsistency, like the overly spicy buffalo mac and cheese overshadowing flavors or side dishes that don’t live up to expectations, but these appear to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The space itself is clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable environment whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite, enjoying casual drinks, or sharing a meal with family. The target audience is broad; it caters well to locals and visitors looking for classic American dishes with a twist, delivered in a friendly, approachable setting.

In sum, MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub stands out as a dependable destination for those seeking bold pub flavors with a touch of creativity. Its balance of appetizers, mains, and vibrant bar offerings makes it worth exploring, especially if you appreciate well-prepared comfort food in a welcoming atmosphere.

First time at Mackenzie River and it did not disappoint! Everything on the menue looked great! We ended up getting the Artichoke Dip as an appetizer. My wife got the Cajun Penne pasta and i got the Thai Pie pizza. Everything was fantastic! I also ordered a beer and it came super cold and was also delicious! Would definitely recommend! Update: went there last night and ordered a seasonal special pizza, the Harvest Cherry Pie. I ordered it because of the mixture of toppings seemed intriguing and I was not disappointed! It was great! The only regret is I forgot to order it on a thin crust which o prefer at Mackenzie River.

I wanted to try something new and wasn’t disappointed! The food was amazing and well seasoned. French onion soup was so comforting for me and the service was good! This restaurant was also very clean and well kept! Will visit again !

Great place, only regret I ordered "get two", as what I really was eyeing California flat bread or tacos... The tortilla soup was fabulous however the chicken panini with French fries would not be my first choice : (

Fries were plain and salty. Sandwich was delicious (pineapple salsa added a sweetness to it). Buffalo Mack n cheese was way too hot. Even the waitress (Elana) said they put on more than normal. All I could taste was the buffalo sauce. I needed to get blue cheese dressing to try and simmer it down but that didn't work. I couldn't taste the cheesiness at all. The chicken and blue cheese crumbles were there but very hard to notice. Got the corn nachos (black chips) which were delicious as well. A great amount of toppings. The California chicken flatbread was also surprisingly good. It looked artisanal because each flatbread piece had a piece of herb, avocado, chicken, and bacon. Even though the one main meal wasn't great, everything else was.

Have gone here twice now, and the first time was much better than the second. Food was out of this world the first time. the second time, it was just okay. Kelsey is a top-notch waitress. Pasta is decent. Bread is good. Chicken tortilla soup is thick and spicy, a different twist on it for sure. Their artichoke and spinach dip has basil/pesto in it, so it's a bit sweet. Those blue tortilla chips are fire, though. Regular burgers and bison burgers are recommended. Their kids' mac and cheese comes with goldfish in them, our 6yr old was not a happy camper about that. They only have rootbeer in bottles. All and all a decent place, worth trying at least once.

We got takeout of a small classic cheese pizza and a grizzly burger with goat cheese. The pizza had lots of cheese, yummy sauce, and a fluffy crust with a crispy exterior. It is a thick pizza, but still had a good ratio of ingredients and was very tasty! The burger was cooked well and had lots of goat cheese, but was a little bit lacking in the veggie toppings.

First time eating here. Great place and food. Met friends for lunch, not too busy for a Friday. Brooklyn was our server. Very friendly and nice. When the appetizer came out, Greek flatbread, she only brought out napkins, no plates. The entrees were good and you got a lot of food for the price. They serve local beers. About 12-15 large flat screen tvs to watch sports.
